With the other guests it has some of the charm of a bed and breakfast, as you meet new families and hear their stories and adventures. My young kids loved it.
This is an incredible place to stay. The house is at the end of a quiet, private street, and is literally next to the ocean - so close that waves crash in the morning and add water to the salt water pool! The shared open area is the perfect place for relaxing and socializing, with great views of the surfers down the beach, Honolulu in the distance, and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. There's even a koi pond.
Great view of the ocean, diamond head, clean but a little run down. If you are looking for 5 stars this is not it, locals are nice and there is a great beach about 3 miles away. Good place to drop your bags and go explore the island.
It isn't incredibly close to Waikiki- about 30 minutes drive- but it is easy to get there, or to Kapolei, or pretty much anywhere. There are plenty of stores and beaches nearby, and you can walk to One'ula beach.
