We have Island Realty Group LLC as our property managers, and I've had such an awful experience with them!! I'm usually not one to complain, but they have been so unprofessional. They took over our property since our landlord went bankrupt. Then a couple of months later, they lead us on to believe that we qualified for a bigger apartment in our area. The day before we were to move in, they called us and said that we couldn't move in without the security deposit (even though they had agreed to let us pay it off monthly). We had already packed our things, changed our addresses, scheduled the movers, and activated the electricity. There was a misunderstanding between the rental agent and the principal broker, which we are suffering for!! The principal broker was very unprofessional in handling the situation, and he was very disrespectful to my mother when she called him. Honestly, it has been so hard on her, she's had such a horrible year, and when we thought we were getting the apartment, things were starting to look up. We wouldn't have had such a problem with cancelling the move, had it been the principal broker called us himself, to break the news. But he sent the rental agent to break the news to us. And then when my mom called him to speak to him directly, he cut her off, badgered her, talked down to her, told her off, and once she started to speak, HE HUNG UP. How disrespectful. He doesn't even consider what she's been going through. We've never had to deal with such an unprofessional company. It is one thing to be a terrible property manager. But it's another thing to be a terrible human being. We are now trying to find a way to leave before our lease ends, because we can't possible think of dealing with them any longer.
We've known the owners since summer of 2009 and have had nothing but good things to say about their business and employees. Toti and Tracy helped us find our first rental and stayed in it from 2009-2011. Then they helped us purchase our home in Ocean Pointe, we chose to stay with them as our property manager after we PCS'd (July 2012). They've been our property manager ever since and been great about keeping the place up on preventative maintenance and quickly addressing issues that arose (broken dish washer, washer, etc). They also helped us with a rental when we came out to visit last summer and coordinated a visit to our property. Great professionals, true Hawaiian spirit.
